A DUTCH FAMILY

Living with a Dutch family, is not strange or difficult, I think a dutch family is like any other family but with a different culture and customs. First, their alimentation; their timetables are very different and they eat all the time, lots of sweet things. They have breakfast at 7 o'clock, because they usually wake up at 6 am (at the weekends too, something very unusual for us), they have lunch at 12 am, and finally they have dinner at 6 pm. They do everything quickly, while other cultures do things slower. At first, you can think that they have a daylife, but I think they have a nightlife; because they do a lot of activities after dinner (at 6 pm).
Like I was saying: their meals are so different, they eat lots of sandwiches, and I don't think this is healthy at all.

These are some of their sweets and dishes that I have tried:

Sroopwafels: sweet cookie.

Pannenkoeken: salad pancake, with bacon, cheese, ...

Gourmet: griddle in the middle of the table
with small and diferent pieces of meat.

Goudse Kass: cheese very tasty.

Eierkoek: bread seem similar a buiscuit.

And some other sweets that are not so “typical”.

I love some of the dishes in Holland, but I will never replace my spanish food.

In summary; Holland culture is very strange, but with some changes in your habits you can stay with one family and have a great time with them! I recommend you to have this interesting experience!
